Singapore E-Invoicing FAQ

Is e-invoicing mandatory in Singapore?

Yes, in phases. IRAS's GST InvoiceNow Requirement began as a voluntary soft launch on 1 May 2025. It applies to newly incorporated companies that register for GST voluntarily from 1 November 2025, and to all new voluntary GST registrants from 1 April 2026. It then extends progressively to every GST-registered business between April 2028 and April 2031. Confirm your own start date against IRAS's guidance.

What is UEN and how is it used?

UEN (Unique Entity Number) is Singapore's standard business identifier. It serves as your Peppol participant ID on InvoiceNow, making it easy for trading partners to find and send you invoices.

Are there grants for InvoiceNow adoption?

Yes, SMEs can apply for the Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) to offset the cost of adopting InvoiceNow-ready solutions. Check IMDA's website for current grant availability. Also see our e-invoicing whitepapers and API documentation.
